The miniatures

Built for the battle. Made for modellers.

A compact 00-gauge battlefield, backed by one of the widest selections of scenery and military models in the hobby.

Fields of Iron game prototype

The 00-gauge advantage

Use the world you already own.

Fields of Iron is built around British 00 gauge, or 1:76 scale. It is a wonderfully practical size for tank battles: small enough to manoeuvre across scenery-rich tables, but large enough for detailed models with real character.

More importantly, it opens the door to the enormous model railway hobby. Buildings, stations, factories, bridges, roads, walls, trees, hedges and complete scenic layouts are already widely available, giving players far more choice than a closed range of game-specific terrain ever could.

Many military kits are produced in 1:72 rather than 1:76. The small difference is rarely distracting on a busy tabletop, so both scales can be used comfortably together.

Decades of models to discover

You are not limited to the models in our box.

The 1:72 and 1:76 modelling world contains an extraordinary range of WWII vehicles. Alongside familiar Airfix-style kits are tanks, armoured cars, trucks, artillery and specialist vehicles from manufacturers around the world, available as plastic kits, resin models, die-casts and printable designs.

That gives Fields of Iron room to grow with your interests. Start with the two complete forces in the box, add a favourite kit from your shelf, recreate a historical unit, or build an army around vehicles you have always wanted to put on the table.

The range will grow

The starter armies are only the beginning.

Planned 1,000-point army boxes will expand the British and German forces and introduce US, Soviet and Japanese armour. Campaign sets will bring theatre-specific vehicles to North Africa, the Eastern Front and beyond.
